A Kindle Comparison

I thought it fitting for my first post to be a Kindle comparison because I bought my first one this past Christmas and it's been my favourite purchase! I was hesitant to buy one for a long time because I was a physical book girly and hated reading on my iPad or phone, especially due to the strain on my eyes. Now I am sad I didn't join the Kindle family sooner. Kindles are small and light weight making them perfect for travel, especially with its long battery life. The screens use front-lighting to illuminate the screen making it less straining on the eyes. You can change book fonts and text size in the settings to match your preferences. In this post I will be comparing 3 Kindles, no matter which you choose, your life will be changed for the better. *I included amazon affiliate links which allow me to earn a commission, using the links does not cost you anything*

Kindle Basic -> $110 (Best Budget Option)

The basic Kindle is great if you are looking for a budget option. It allows you to adjust screen brightness but not warmth like the other Kindles. If you are planning to read by the pool it is better to spend a little more and buy the Paperwhite.

Stats -> Smallest of the Kindles with a 6" screen. Is not water proof. A single charge lasts up to 6 weeks (shortest battery life).

Colors -> Black, Matcha

Kindle Paperwhite -> $160 (Overall Favorite)

I personally bought a Kindle Paperwhite for Christmas and absolutely love it! It is in the middle of the price range offering great features for the price. The main difference between the Colorsoft and the Paperwhite is that the Paperwhite does not have any color and it has about 4 weeks more in battery life.

Stats -> The Paperwhite has a 7" screen just like the Colorsoft. Waterproof just like the Colorsoft allowing stress free reading. Single charge can last up to 12 weeks (longest battery life). Has an adjustable warm light from white to amber allowing comfortable reading from bright sunlight to the dark.

Colors available -> Black, Raspberry, Jadea

Kindle Colorsoft -> $250 (Best for Reading in Color)

This is the only Kindle that includes color. It is perfect for people who read books that include lots of images, comic books, or like to highlight in different colors. Keep in mind the colors are muted, it will not have the same high-vibrancy like tablets do

Stats -> The Colorsoft has a 7" screen just like the Paperwhite. Waterproof just like the paperwhite allowing stress free reading. A single charge can last up to 8 weeks. Has an adjustable warm light from white to amber allowing comfortable reading from bright sunlight to the dark.

Colors -> only comes in black

Ads -> disabling lockscreen ads costs $20, you can choose it as an option with your purchase or pay to disable ads later on through your kindle account

Kindle Unlimited -> when buying a kindle you can get a free 3 month trial, usually trials are only 30 days if you never had a kindle account making it worth it. The monthly fee of $11.99 gives you access to over 4 million titles, thousands of audiobooks, and magazine subscriptions. You can read an unlimited amount of books.

Storage -> 16 GB is more than enough for most readers, estimates are 4,000 to over 10,000 ebooks and a few hundred graphic novels/manga. Any books you buy are always available on your kindle account, you can choose which ones you want to have actively downloaded at any given time.

Stuff your kindle days take place regularly so it is a good idea to do a google search once in a while to write down when they are taking place. Many influencers share lists with recommended books that are available on stuff your kindle days.
